Yang Chow is always a great stop in Chinatown. The food is so good the fried rice, dumplings, and string beans are all must orders. Their Slippery Shrimp, which is one of their most famous dishes, is a must-try too. The Kung Pao, Chow Mein are also super popular and never disappoint. The service is attentive even when the place is packed, and it’s almost always crowded, but honestly the wait is worth it every time. I also love looking at all the celebrity photos on the wall, it gives the restaurant that classic, old school Chinatown charm.

Decided to go Chinatown and eat here because of good reviews. Was seated immediately, we are a group of 8. Our server has a bit of difficulty speaking english when we ask questions but the serving is huge. We ended up ordering plenty because of the misunderstanding that each order is good for one when it fact, it is a platter. From the soup, to rice, to everything is huge portion so keep that in mind. The location is not very far from $7 parking garage, used to be $5. Pretty easy to find. If you are looking for good Chinese food, this is your place. Ambiance is so so but we did not mind since all we did was talk. We liked everything, I particularly liked the Slippery Shrimp, Braised Tofu (a hint of spice) and Pork Chop. The Duck is kinda dry.

Man.... a very rare find, true 5-star all around: the food, the service, the atmosphere AND the pricing.... Visiting LA from GA, i stopped by for late lunch... and thank God it was late lunch, otherwise I wouldn't have even gotten in!!! Yes, it was still almost full and since I went alone I felt bad I would take up one of their tables!!!! Okay, I am not trying to be racist, but i have encountered many, including Koreans, old cranky Asian ladies(usually owners), but not this one, from the beginning the classy lady was very kind and didn't mind giving me a table even though I went there alone. Boy, that was only the beginning; the entire staff was so nice, not just my waiter, everyone, really!!!! And Benny, I think the manager, came over a couple of times to check up on me, a table for ONE!!! Moreover, their signature Slippery Shirmp was excellent, on-point, crunch and with delicious flavors.... Wait, there is more: thw price was soooooo reasonable, especially in this inflation age, I could not believe it, with very generous portion as well. How can I not give the 5-star for this wonderful restaurant 😍, it actually deserves 7-star if such thing existed. I am certainly stopping by this restaurant whenever I am in town to try other menu items, and i will definitely recommend to my friends in the area.... EXCELLENT food and IMPRESSIVE service, thank you!!! 🙏🙏🙏

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. On the positive side, the service was incredibly fast—we received our food in less than 15 minutes. However, the staff needs to be much more patient and attentive. I tried to ask for hot sauce, but the server walked away before I could even finish my sentence. While the Chicken Chow Mein was fine, I am extremely concerned about the Sweet and Sour Pork Chops. As shown in the photos I’ve attached, the meat was distinctly pink and undercooked in the middle. I didn't notice while eating at the table because I was hungry, but seeing this in my leftovers has me genuinely worried I might get sick. The kitchen really needs to be more careful with their cooking temperatures for safety. I won't be returning👎

There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in this area that are just as good, if not better than this place with probably less of a wait. I went here not knowing that my sister saw this place on TikTok and wanted to try their slippery shrimp. What we ordered, most liked to least: SHRIMP FRIED RICE - It wasn’t super greasy like you’d expect fried rice to be. It had a good flavor to it, light (didn’t seem like it had soy sauce) and had a good amount of shrimp. KUNG PAO CHICKEN - Flavorful, the only thing I wasn’t too fond of was there seemed to be more green onions and peanuts than chicken. SLIPPERY SHRIMP - It was good but I prefer my original walnut shrimp. It reminded me of the shrimp version of orange chicken (but less tangier). Chicken LO MIEN NOODLES - the main flavor I tasted was soy sauce. In my opinion, there wasn’t a good balance of flavors with this dish. I don’t recommend it. SERVICE: Workers were super friendly. Food came out very quickly. What wasn’t quick was getting your table. We waited about 45 minutes for a table. And no you can’t make reservations.
