I had an unbelievably disturbing experience at Milk and Honey Market in Phoenix, AZ. What should’ve been a quick stop turned into one of the most hostile and discriminatory experiences I’ve ever had in a business. My group brought someone with us — a person who appeared to be homeless — to help them get something to eat. While we were browsing the selection, the owner began yelling at us aggressively. We were berated in the store, accused of enabling homelessness, and openly insulted. He forcibly kicked the person out of the shop while using disgusting, derogatory language — repeatedly claiming that “all homeless people hurt his business” and calling us “horrible people” simply for being in the store with someone who needed help. This was blatant profiling and discrimination based on appearance and perceived socioeconomic status — and possibly race. A store should be welcoming and respectful to all customers. Instead, we were humiliated and screamed at, not for anything we did, but because of who we were with and how we looked. This is beyond poor customer service — it’s dehumanizing and offensive. I urge anyone reading this to think twice before supporting this business. Avoid this place at all costs.

The people working behind the counter should be ashamed of themselves, I seen them profile an individual who happened to be African American and accuse them of being homeless and kick them out of the store. And flat out said to this man that he's homeless so get out. The man had money in hand. That was totally out of line. Profiling is against the law even for police officers in most states. That hurt me seeing this man be humiliated like that and denied service for his appearance. Shame on you guys shame
