Dinner was wonderful. I started off with queso fundido, using chips to scoop up the chorizo and cheese. Then I moved onto one of the current specials: Baja crab and shrimp enchiladas smothered in creamy jalapeño pesto sauce. It came with rice and all the fixin's. Finally, I had flan for dessert. That was AWESOME. I had a Jarrito and water to drink. Service was great, even though they were handling a few large groups. I can't wait to return.

This is a five star restaurant wherever you come from. The service is excellent!! The food is everything you want, and the penny wall on this authentic Mexican restaurant tells you all you need to know—attention to detail! Definitely pick this one for Mexican in southeast Iowa! - Posted by a white girl and Mexican dude. We go to at least one Mexican restaurant a week and this one is the best in two years!

So after several friends recommending that we try Los Charros. We were pleasantly rewarded with a great experience. The Service: This is where they shine. While it was a Saturday night at 6:30 on Valentines day, they were on point. There was a short wait - to be expected, they were fast. And not sloppy fast. The Food: we had the Valentines day special. Drinks were out shortly after the chips and salsa. Both were fresh and their salsa is a bit spicy. The Los Charros Fajita and rice and refried beans were cooked to perfection. You get three shells and guacamole and pico-de-gio with lettuce. Chilli Relanos was one of my favorite dishes. I measure how good a restaurant is by this. Mine was excellent. While we don't drink alcohol it was something that is definitely well done. High end spirits and beer are available. They have enormous margaritas. The Atmosphere: decor was traditional Mexican, with hints of Valentines day decor tastefully added. With lots of seating options to all, they even have ADA compliant options. It's nice to see a restaurant that does it right.

I ordered my food and it took around and hour and a half to get it. I understood why because it was extremely busy in there. When the waitress brought my food out she dropped it all over me and my dress (we had a dance that night). She didn’t apologize or offer any napkins. I went to the bathroom and they didn’t have any paper towels. I went to find someone and asked them if they had any paper towels because they were out of them in the bathroom. The man I asked gave me three napkins which was nice but did not help clean up anything at all so I asked for a large stack. I went to the bathroom and had to clean all of it up off of my dress and all over my legs. When I came back out the food was still all over my chair, table, and the floor. My group expressed to me that she was also overall disrespectful and rude and had an attitude to them. They also did not give us silverware or straws. I understand that they were busy that night but that’s not an excuse for rude behavior or even the common human decency to apologize to someone when you drop food all over them. When they brought the replacement food out, it was basically a puddle of water with chips, cheese, and shredded chicken thrown over it. They never apologized or offered to give me my food at a discount. I came here hoping for a fun dinner with my friends and ended up leaving smelling like mexican food and still hungry. I know I’m only a teenager but I still feel like it’s rude to treat me and my group like this.

These margaritas were just amazing!! They were bright, bold, unapologetic. They tasted like sunshine, beach plans and just like, “one more won’t hurt.” Jesus was a phenomenal host and the whole atmosphere was just a great time! 10/10 would recommend!!!
