The Retired & Disabled Police of America (RDPOA) is a fraternal organization formed in October, 1990 and incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as a non-profit corporation, and is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director.
It's an Indian restaurant with good ambience and environment. The food prices is definitely on the higher side. The street style fried rice was good but with very less veggies as you can see in the photos. We ordered Rogan gosh curry was good but got a different type of goat curry. but it was delicious. The naan was nice and buttery.
They seem to do a lot of business because you will see many people going and coming. The restaurant is decorated nicely and has a nice ambiance. Now for the food which is the most important part: Our entire meal was way too spicy. It was almost too spicy to ensure. We ordered medium because we were unsure of the spice level. If that was medium I’m afraid to try anything more. Then the chicken biriyani was literally just some plain rice over chicken. The name of the restaurant would indicate this was their specialty yet it was dreadful. Some of the worst that I’ve had. The shrimp tandoori was 8-10 pieces of overcooked shrimp with no sides just some raw red onion on top for $25. We will not be back.
Love their Pompano fish! I like their chicken dum biryani but the portion is too small. Service was great.
I have had Indian from all over the world. This place really shouldn't make curry dishes. I don't know how their biryani tastes, but their tikka masala and korma are not good. They also don't know how to make them mild, all were spicy. The korma was chunky and had so many spices and bay leaves in it you couldn't taste the cashew or coconut which is the basis of the sauce. The tikka masala should have a tomato flavor and you wouldn't know if it was made with tomatoes. The naan was decent tasting, but thin and not fluffy. If you are looking for a good curry, go elsewhere.
This place is not for Dosa! Could not have been worse! Other dishes were good! Would be great if they remove dosa from their menu. Not sure if dosa , chutney and sambhar were this bad only on the day we tried! Recommend to try other food items.
