The Retired & Disabled Police of America (RDPOA) is a fraternal organization formed in October, 1990 and incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as a non-profit corporation, and is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director.
My husband and I went on a date night about a week ago and tried this place out. We were VERY impressed with the whole experience. When I tell you we sat down and not even two minutes went by and we already had chips and salsa and drinks on our table! The service was great, and food came so quick. It was also not very expensive at all. For a 32oz beer, two meals, small queso and drinks it came out to around $40 total. The food was really good too! We will definitely be back and it’s at the top of our favorite restaurant list!
The staff provided reasonable service, and I have no complaints regarding their performance. However, they appeared fatigued or not particularly enthusiastic about being there. My primary concern was the condition of the restroom. Although the establishment was not busy at the time, the odor and lack of cleanliness suggested otherwise. Upon opening the door, I was met with an unpleasant smell. There was tissue and trash scattered across the floors and countertops, and there were no paper towels available. It appeared that the restroom had not been checked or maintained for several hours, if not longer.
Update: I been here at least 3x since Mother's day. I went yesterday and food was fabulous. I never had a bad experience when I go. We just love this place! I had the "Speedy Gonzales" it's the last pic #7. Also, if you go during lunch hour lunch specials are $6.50. Went here yesterday for Mother's Day. My son wanted to do something nice for me. I have been here many times. The food is great and service is usually fast. Margarita are awesome too!
I’ve visited this place a total of 3 times, each at the request of someone in my party. Every time I have been disappointed. My most recent visit was a couple weeks ago for a birthday. I ordered the tequila rice: the chicken felt rubbery as if it were precooked and reheated, the rice was mushy because it was overcooked and the shrimp was tough because it was cooked too long. My food was also very salty, I took a few bite and couldn’t finish. They bring complimentary chips and salsa to the table, I could smell the chips before they made it to the table: they smelled like they’d been cooked in old grease. Ultimately I ate very little and decided that was my very last time visiting. Our waiter was pleasant enough and we were seated quickly, so 2 stars.
I have gone here for YEARS. It has always been excelent. Their chicken burritos are hands down the best I have ever had. I'm sure that doesn't really come across as the compliment it is. They are absolutely amazing. Highly recommend.
