We absolutely love the All-You-Can-Eat option here (especially because so many fresh-made sushi rolls are available!). One thing to note is that it's set up more like Olive Garden's "endless pasta" in that you can only order two items at a time; it's not buffet style. That said, as soon as you get your first order, put in the next and you should be right on track! The portions from the hibachi side are generous, too - so come hungry if you're looking to get a few helpings of Shrimp Pad Thai! We've been to the hibachi side a few times over the years as well, and it's great for special occasions. The chefs are engaging and entertaining, and of course the food is delicious.
The all you can eat menu used to be decent. They've started charging extra for every order you get on (quite literally) half the menu items now. It's hardly worth it anymore. Very disappointed to see one of my favorite spots getting greedy. Drive the extra 20 minutes to Sushi Bomb - at least there you pay just one price, and quality is the same if not better.
We used to enjoy coming here before the all-you-can-eat change. This last visit may be out last though. We've been to Sushi Bomb and other sushi buffet places in the area, and thought this would just be more of that. We had two kids (6 and 8), and 5 adults. They had kids prices listed, and a kids section of the menu with standard kids fare (nuggets, fries, etc). If your kids want any sushi, you will have to pay the full adult price, which is crazy. If you know how kids are, you'll understand. My 6 year old ate a single roll of sushi and said she was full. My 8 year old had 2 rolls. $50 for three standard rolls of sushi. My step father also did not expect he would eat much, but they insisted the whole table had to be all-you-can-eat or not. So we also ended up paying $25 for a single plate of mostly soba noodles. In hindsight, we should have split into two parties, and had grandpap and the kids at one table, and the rest of us at the other. The temperature in the restaurant was also crazy cold. It was 20°f outside, but there was 20 feet and a divider between us and the door. I was wearing three layers and still wanted to wear my coat. If it were just a group of folks expecting to eat a ton of sushi, I would have had a better review to write for sure. The tuna tartare was great, all of the rolls were great. The food came quick, the plates left quick, the drinks were filled. I thought too much of the menu had up-charges for it being an all-you-can-eat place that already felt expensive. All in all, the food was good, the prices were insane, and the staff wasn't particularly flexible or helpful. We explained the kids situation up front and they knocked the adult prices down to kids prices after talking with the manager, which I appreciated. Not sure if it was enough to have us back again though.
Terrible service and still had to pay a 54.00 service charge. Outrageous! On top of the sloppy chef and the waiter that did nothing but get our drinks one time. There was a piece of Brillo pad in our noddles and all they wanted to give was 50% off of that plate only….. totally unprofessional and was not worth the 300.00+ we spent. Will NEVER go back.
I just really wasn't impressed. The ponzo sauce is very good, but they use it very sparingly. I didn't finish my tuna tartar because it had no ponzo sauce. My husband had crab ragoon and again just wasn't impressed with the flavor. Might just be a one off and am willing to try again. Atmosphere was nice & staff was nice.
