The Retired & Disabled Police of America (RDPOA) is a fraternal organization formed in October, 1990 and incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as a non-profit corporation, and is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director.
Trying a new restaurant is exciting, but unfortunately this restaurant was beyond disappointing. We ordered crab cakes and was brought crab balls that were still cold and not fully cooked. We ordered catfish dinner and shrimp tacos. The catfish was lightly grilled on each side, but raw throughout. The shrimp tacos had again lightly grilled shrimp but raw throughout. Further the shrimp had a gas taste. The side cilantro lime rice was steamed white rice with a sprinkle of cilantro, not much to say about this but another disappointing item. We order ceviche in hopes to find something that was prepared properly, unfortunately it was below average and tasteless. The side salad and dressing was good. We didn't eat our dinners and they were returned. The waitress offered us a 20% discount on our bill. I was surprised they was going to charge us for the plates. Thankfully the owner stop by and asked how the food was. We shared with him all the above. He told the waitress to clear our check that we didn't have to pay. Well appreciated. Wish them the best, they have a lot to learn and hopefully not get people sick with raw foods.
We went on second day they opened and to our surprise the food was delicious. The catfish was spot on and the boudin egg rolls were amazing. Service at the bar excellent and staff attentive. We met the owner who is really trying and will make it because he has heart. I see the other reviews it’s like they just opened new crew and everything. We will be back and spread the word about Mojo Cantina and grill. We support local business. And East Texas ok!
Great food and amazing ownership. Felt like family there. Had some tacos and a fish plate. Homemade sauces were awesome and food was delicious. Give these folks a try.
Honestly this is my favorite place to eat !! The kitchen definitely know what they are doing I’m very impressed 😍! It’s such a friendly and nice place to eat at . Great spot ! I’ll never get tired of it !
I CAN SAY. IT NEEDS MORE VARIETY OF FOOD. KEEP EYE ON RISE COOKING POINT AND FOR THE TACOS NEEDS THE TORTILLA NOT TO LET IT COOL. FOR THE TORTILLA WILL BE BETTER BE FRESH. GARLIC PIECES NOT TO BE TO BIG OR USE POWDER. ONIONS WELL ASK THE CUSTOMER IF THE WANT ONIONS ON THERE TACO'S BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE DONDE LIKE ONIOS, PRICING LET IT A LITTLE BIT LESS BECAUSE YOU WANT CUSTOMER TO COME BACK NOT TO SCARY THEM. I KNOW THAT SOUNDS NEGATIVE, BUT IT IS NOT. IT IS AN IDEA WHERE CAN BE IMPROVED. THANK YOU ALL THE SERVICES.
