Ordered the birria pizza 0/10 not only was it not cut all the way through it was soggy and the meat wasn’t even shredded! Meat was so tough it honestly tasted like bland fasted cooked pot roast. I wouldn’t call this birria at all! Just greasy broth from pot roast. Has so many fat pieces throughout the whole thing we couldn’t even eat it. That’s not traditional birria it’s just tough pot roast with greasy broth Second we ordered the tres leches cake and what is that?! Why not put in the description that it’s cake with strawberry filling and NUTS with a chocolate candy? Huh That’s not a traditional tres leches had I known i wouldn’t have ordered this it was nasty and so glad I saw the nuts before giving to kids. This was a very disappointing experience and not authentic food at all.
First time seeing a live Mariachi Band. It was such a wonderful experience! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were 5+ stars. When I am in the area I will definitely be returning. The prices are also VERY reasonable.
New favorite Quesabirria place the tacos nearly burned off my fingers in the best way possible. Meat was very well seasoned and tender and the tacos did not fall apart. Will be coming again, highly recommend
*** EDIT: Less than a week after my initial review praising the value proposition of this restaurant, the specific dish I pointed out raised in price by two dollars. Another week later and the prices on doordash have increased tremendously. The Arroz Con Pollo that I pointed out as a great value at 10.99 for a lunch now costs $17.40 for the same dish, a 58% increase. Value is a main determining factor in my reviews and this type of increase is unacceptable in my view. Don't get me wrong, this isn't bad food, but with current pricing it no longer stands out in this market, I can no longer recommend El Mariachi over Mi Cabana or El Cerro Grande which offer better experiences at similar prices. *** Authentic vibes and El Mariachi represents the best value Mexican food in the Jacksonville area. Prices are very affordable and highlight what Mexican food is all about - efficient, well seasoned, simple food. Great chips and salsa, the fajitas are very generously portioned and good quality meats, the tortillas are not home made though which may be a turn off for some. The Arroz Con Pollo for 11 bucks is hard to beat, comes with fantastic dipping sauces. It does help to speak Spanish here as many of the servers have limited English and as a result may not be as attentive to English speaking customers. Overall a great value, good solid food and very good when delivered. If you are looking for a great sit down experience there is probably better options but this is definitely worth a visit. 4/5
I’ve been to this place a handful of times and the servers are always helpful when it comes to ordering. The food is ok but definitely not the best. I wish they would make the horchata from scratch but it’s not. If you’re looking for a regular Mexican meal this is the spot. Also for large groups or parties I recommend to come here since they’re quick with their table service.
