About El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant
The Retired & Disabled Police of America (RDPOA) is a fraternal organization formed in October, 1990 and incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as a non-profit corporation, and is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director.
A restaurant on the county square. The food was decent, service was ok. The area was dark with out windows, if they could remove the “wall” or divider that blocks the windows overlooking the courthouse square, I believe it will be a better atmosphere.
The food is good, but the service... not so much. After my meal, I stood at the counter waiting to pay for almost 5 minutes, while I watched the two employees sitting at tables, playing on their phones. No one should have to wait that long to pay, while employees ignore the customer so they can stare at their phone. I would have tipped well, but they got no tip at all, for that reason.
We had the whole place to ourselves due to our arrival at an odd hour!! (Between lunch and dinner time) Food was delicious even when we had it as leftovers the next day! (Portion sizes are very adequate) The salsa is made in house and is very tasty! (We asked if we could have a jar to go) 🤓
The service is friendly and fast, prices reasonable and food okay.
Placed a pick up order and clearly stated that I wanted beef fajitas for 2, it was also repeated back to me. Went to pick up my order and it was incorrect, they gave me the beef chicken and shrimp fajitas. I let them know that my order was incorrect and she told me no, that is what I ordered. I told her that no, I ordered beef only because my boyfriend is allergic to shrimp so I would have not ordered that. She grabbed my bag and went into the kitchen. When she came back out with my beef fajitas I said thank you and asked if there was a price difference knowing the all beef fajitas were less than the trio. She flat out told me no and turned and walked away. We will not be coming back. I don’t care about the 4.00 difference it’s the fact that she lied to me and walked off like I was bothering her. Customer service definitely needs improvement.
