Where do I even begin with how in love I fell with this spot? Not just with the food, but with the owners too. Let’s start with the incredible husband-and-wife duo behind Empanada’s and More. You can truly feel their passion the moment you walk in. They travel, take cooking classes, and bring those authentic Latin flavors back to their restaurant, and it shows in every dish. Inside, you’ll even find stamps on the wall from the places they’ve traveled, which I absolutely loved. It makes the experience feel personal and special before you even take a bite. Now for the food… the birria empanadas were next-level. Flavor in every single bite, with such a unique twist on a classic. I’m officially addicted and could eat these every day for the rest of my life. The Teque Trio was also incredible, especially the guava and cheese, which completely surprised me with how delicious it was. The Yaroa fries are an absolute must-try, do not skip them. And the arepas? Fantastic. Truly, every dish we tried was packed with bold, unforgettable flavors. Empanada’s and More is the kind of place that keeps you coming back for more, not just for the food but for the heart behind it. If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and go. You will not regret it.
Tried 3 different flavors: beef, spinach and cheese, and steak and cheese. $4 for 1 empanada is high for barely any meat inside. Only the spinach and cheese was filled all the way. Garlic cilantro sauce is the best and beef was the best tasting but not filled enough.
We shared takeout and my husband said he loved that the chicken and steak and rice all had their own individual flavors and textures. I loved that they had so many gf options for my mother in law. Everything was delicious, flavorful and seasoned well with nothing being spicy. Again great for my mom in law. The three of us shared a steak arepa, a chicken arepa, a spinach and cheese empanada, a chicken empanada, a regular serving of chaufa and there was fried cheese to go with each arepa. We have leftovers.
I ordered a patacón and a cachapa online. The patacón was good, but the cachapa came really burnt. I couldn’t enjoy the actual flavor because the burnt taste was overpowering.
Empanadas and More served the NCCU Soaring Eagle Powwow and provided excellent food truck service, where they served over 150 people over the course of four hours. Powwow participants raved about how delicious the food was. I enjoyed the chicken nachos. Service is excellent, food is delicious, and the owners are kind and easy to work with!
