Our go to spot for good Indian food in the South Sac/Elk Grove area. They have a good menu with something for everyone. We like doing the lunch buffets on weekends. Their butter chicken, dhal makhani, goat curry, and veggie pakoras are some of our favorites. Buffets are priced fairly for the quality and selection of food. Includes hot chai, small salad bar, chutneys, raita, and some desserts. Service has improved alot from our previous visits. The staff is more attentive and check on you often, polite, and are always available if you need anything.

I walked in thinking "Malai kofta", saw the buffet & did that instead. It was REALLY good! Shahi paneer; kadhi pakora; dal makhani (watery); butter chcken; goat curry & more. Great variety & spicy- not crazy spicy, just right. If you don't like the heat, order mild from the menu. Nice servers. The raita was loaded with extras (like boondi) & good. My only complaint is they don't have small bowls at the buffet. It'd help with the raita & dal makhani. I'll be back. No doubt about it. :)

We had an amazing experience at Chaat of India! The food was absolutely delicious—every single dish was full of flavor. The chicken tikka is a must-try, perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. I celebrated my birthday here with my family, and the experience was made even more special by the warm hospitality of the owner and the friendly, attentive staff. They made us feel truly welcome. Great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended—we will definitely be back! 🎉🍽️

Chaat of India is a top tier Indian restaurant! I had one all time favorite and haven't found another that I liked in a while until I tried Chaat of India. Now they are part of my list of top Indian restaurants. They have a decently priced lunch and dinner buffet, but the al la carte menu is superb! There were different types of street food and SO many curries and breads. Of course we had to try their world famous wraps, which a friend had referred. Lamb Wrap 5/5* These wraps are world famous for a reason. They came out so piping hot, it was hard to pick up and unwrap. They even stayed scalding hot the entire time we were eating. I was surprised there was so much sauce, chunks of lamb, and carmelized peppers and onions stuffed neatly inside a soft, fluffy naan wrap. It was like eating curry and naan in a portable package. The flavors were intense without the typical strong spice smell and you can customize the spice level. The sauce was so rich, savory, and tasty. A side of veggies or some yogurt sauce would be nice to cut the richness. Dahi Pani Puri 5/5* The puri were a nice thickness, crispy, and were packed with potatoes, tamarind curd, and yogurt. They were a perfect contrast to the richness of the lamb wrap. The mouth-feel was cold and super refreshing. The tamarind sauce added a sweet and sour punch of flavor. Mack Special Goat Curry 4/5* It was hard to explain this flavor. It was flavorful, chunky, good saltiness, but somehow delicate and subtle curry flavor with a hint of sweetness. The goat was fatty and fall off the bone. Great with a side a butter Naan. For the price, though, serving size was small and not much meat. The Lamb Wrap and Dahi Pani Puri were my favorite. Those two dishes alone will have me coming back over and over. On the way in, there was loads of Indian sweets and they even make cakes. I can't wait to come back for their buffet!

Really great service and delicious food, ordered chicken tandoori, goat curry, and baingan bharta. The mango lassi is really tasty here. The naan is perfectly fluffy, The even gave me a free dessert. The lunch buffet on the weekday is always a good value.
