The Retired & Disabled Police of America (RDPOA) is a fraternal organization formed in October, 1990 and incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as a non-profit corporation, and is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director.
We visited today, a Wednesday afternoon. It wasn’t busy and there were plenty of open seating. We sat outside on the patio which was great! The food was amazing! Their rice is super flavorful, the chips were warm and delicious and the salsa was perfect! The tostadas were yummy and I LOVED the enchiladas. Their red enchilada sauce is the best I have ever had. It is smoky and flavorful and takes you to the brink of a warm spice but isn’t hot. I could put that sauce on everything. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our server was incredibly slow, disinterested, and seemed to be in no hurry. We waited in between each step for way too long. Even after getting boxes and clearing our table, we still had to ask for our bill to pay. It just wasn’t busy in the slightest to understand why everything took so long.
This is my second time trying them because the food always looks so well plated. First time I went I dined in. I ordered enchiladas and the inside was cold with unmelted cheese while the outside was warm-ish. Today I ordered the birria quesadilla for a working lunch. On the top it was golden brown and nice and the bottom was charred absolutely black. I ate it by removing the black burnt half. I feel they plated it this way knowing they were sending out burnt food and just didn’t care
Food came out not even two minutes after we ordered it. making me think it was premade. I always get food from there but this time i definitely did not like it. Got the chicken and stake bowls. Asked the server if it’s supposed to be hot she said yes. She was sweet and asked if they want me to reheat it but at this point I didn’t want to eat it no more. Not worth the price. Services were the only thing good at that place lol. Ps please do fix the tables 😂😂they were moving so much
Fantastic place! Fantastic food. A bit loud for conversation but that is minor in comparison to the quality of the food and the menu and the wonderful interiors and decor, a brilliant cultural celebration. I'm fussy about my Mexican food and Vantina Louie exceeded my expectations
Absolutely amazing place! It came highly recommended so I knew it would be good but WOW! Love how they start every table with a generous portion or chips and salsa. The service is courageous and polite and food is amazing. I highly recommend this place, RUN dont walk to this wonderful Mexican restaurant with great ambiance.
