The Retired & Disabled Police of America (RDPOA) is a fraternal organization formed in October, 1990 and incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia as a non-profit corporation, and is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director.
Went for lunch Sunday midday. Interior was small with an eclectic decor that was well lit and clean. We were greeted and sat promptly. It was fairly busy and staff were very attentive. Ordered Cadillac margaritas which came out quickly, not very strong, good flavor overall (not too sweet). Chips and salsa were good, guacamole could use more lime. Shared a chile relleno which was standard. Daughter ordered pollo a la crema which was not overly creamy, chicken was tender. Sister got albondigas (meatball soup), broth had a nice roasted corn base. I ordered their menudo which came with tender (clean tasting) intestines, and one pata (foot). I added some of their chili oil which was smoky and balanced. Tried their other salsitas which were also good, habanero had good heat and pineapple had a nice touch of sweetness.
An absolutely wonderful restaurant with great staff! The food is always on point, and serving sizes are excellent! I recommend Los Novillos to anyone looking for the best Mexican food.
Great Happy Hour/Taco Tuesday, driven by a million and one times and finally stopped in this afternoon! Got a few things off the HH Menu, all very good! Service was great considering how busy it was. Will definitely be back in! 👍🏽🌮🌮🌮
You know when you want something satisfying like taco bell but you want something more satisfying, more real, more mexican, more flavor? You might want to check this place out. You get alot of food, like it's so delicious you want to eat it all but can't take those last few bites. Don't let the prices scare you off because it is well worth it. The staff is so inviting and welcoming, we went inside to place an order to go, we stayed and it felt like you were an important guest in someone's home. The gentleman was like "stay, sit, what can I get you?" I wish I got his name he made us feel like family or a long time friend. The chips and salsa were good, not the kind you have to eat there or they become rock hard. The salsa was very hot, not sure if they have a milder one(this was our 1st time there). I recommend the veggie burrito it was fresh vegetables and super good. Also recommend the enchiladas, you can't go wrong with anything you get here, can't wait to try it all, we will definitely be back soon!
I'm still sitting in the restaraunt. It was soooooooo good. I mean really good. I had the mole, it was amazing, wife had the seafood chimichanga, and good god the green sauce on that thing was poured from heaven have mercy. 50 stars.
