For nearly a decade, The Tutoring Center has been a part of our lives, providing not just academic support, but also encouragement, patience, and confidence-building that has truly shaped who our son is today. Their dedication and guidance have made such a difference, and we are so thankful for the countless hours and effort they poured into helping him grow. We are very grateful to all of the amazing tutors at The Tutoring Center!
When my grandchild fell behind in school, I consulted with his teacher to see if some tutoring might help him. She recommended the Tutoring Center. We first interviewed one of the other large tutoring companies. I was turned off by 1) the employee who greeted us (one of the instructors) did not seem to know much about the program and did not leave a good first impression 2) the head instructor left a better impression, but we were turned off by the strong emphasis on parental teaching (versus the tutoring company teaching) and 3) the 7 day per week expectations. We all need a break! We then interviewed at The Tutoring Center of Upland. What a breath of fresh air! We were greeted by Joseph Tran, the Director of this center. He was very welcoming and gracious. He professionally described the program and obviously fully understood the program and communicated very well. We liked the 2 or 3 day per week program, with the center carrying the load, versus the parents. Our child then was introduced to an instructor, RJ, who conducted his assessment. We and our child was extremely happy with the way the assessment was conducted and came away happy with the process and his tutor/child interaction. We signed up to the program and after the first session our child said “I have a new best friend” (the instructor). What a recommendation! We have been very happy with our entire experience at the Tutoring Center of Upland. Mr. Tran is very good at communicating and staying connected with the parents through frequent texts or/or emails. You won’t be disappointed, and most importantly, you child will love the experience and will be learning!
About a year ago, I met with Mr. Tran to discuss my son’s struggles with math. Despite enjoying the subject, my son learned differently and was losing motivation and grades were suffering. I felt helpless until Mr. Tran and his team stepped in with their tailored approach. Within weeks my child was thriving. This past school year he’s been earning As in math, making the honor roll, and now aiming for Calculus in high school. He attends sessions twice a week, and as a teen, his commitment without complaints speaks volumes about his tutors. I highly recommend The Tutoring Center in Upland!
Joseph and the rest of the staff at The Tutoring Center have been extremely professional and helpful. My daughter struggled with math during her entire 7th grade year. Going into her 8th grade year, I decided to get her some help. The Tutoring Center first had her take an intake test to see where she needed help. She started working with a tutor for a 1 hour session, twice a week. The session times have been flexible, allowing her to make practices for sports, and schedule a session the day before a test. The Tutors were able to see what she was working on in class, and work with her on similar material. When she has a test, we have been able to schedule a study session the day before so she and her tutor can concentrate solely on test preparation. After consistently failing 7th grade tests, my daughter has done extremely well on her tests, and has maintained an A/B average so far in 8th grade math. Using The Tutor Center was definitely the right decision for us. Thank You!
At the beginning of my senior year, I enrolled in AP Calculus AB and found myself needing extra help to understand and perfect certain topics. The Tutoring Center has been an absolutely vital resource in my success with such supporting and capable staff members. Less than a week after I called, I was immediately able to trial and begin attending sessions, one of the best decisions I have made for academic success! Staff members such as Ms. Kayla have been great mentors and supporters, offering stellar explanations and helping me become more confident in my calculus abilities. Following my AP exam, I am more than confident that my success has been due to the guidance I have received here, I would recommend The Tutoring Center to anyone!
